Optional Activities
- Fossil Art: Look up fossil images of Brachiosaurus or Diplodocus and draw your own life reconstruction with skin, eyes, and coloring. Note any choices you made that go beyond what the fossil record tells us and explain why you made them.
- Jurassic Food Web: Draw a Jurassic food web with at least 8 organisms. Include plants, herbivorous sauropods, small herbivores (Stegosaurus), small predators (Compsognathus), large predators (Allosaurus), and decomposers. Show how energy flows up each trophic level.
- Pterosaur vs Bird vs Bat Wings: Draw the wing structure of each (pterosaur: one elongated fourth finger; bird: fused hand bones; bat: multiple elongated fingers with skin between). Which design do you think is most efficient for different types of flight and why?
